Carissa's Blog

Some quick updates as Carissa approaches 11 months.
  • She says 'Hello' when the phone rings (very cute voice)
  • Other words she will use sporadically (Dadda, Momma, Yeah)
  • Sign language she uses a lot ("milk", "more")
  • She also can do "ball'" - but ball, more, and clapping are very similar
  • Other gestures - blowing kisses, giving kisses, waving goodbye (kind of), clapping, and vibrating her mouth with her finger while making noices
  • She is very good at throwing balls, putting balls into small holes, and playing hoops (I think it is because we literally have over 250 balls in the house)
  • She has taken several steps on her own - she moves around with ease with her hand held walker - we think she will be walking soon
  • She no longer wants to eat "baby food" - she will spit it out - so we have started giving her more table foods (cooked veggies, pasta, meats, etc....)
Hopefully we will catch some of these moments on video soon - but she always wants to play with the camera instead of performing for it.
